Volunteering In School

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer at Woolston. Parents and carers may wish to support one off projects in their child’s or other classes, including educational visits and sporting fixtures. Or you may wish to offer support in school to assist with reading and other curricular areas. All parents and carers that want to volunteer in school must be willing to have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure And Barring Service) check carried out.

Before regularly volunteering in school we will meet with you to outline our safeguarding procedures and our expectations of parental conduct and confidentiality when supporting in school. The meeting will also give us the opportunity to address any concerns or questions you may have about your role as a volunteer.

Induction is an essential aspect of volunteering and we would expect all volunteers to attend an induction meeting.
